MYRC works on the Manyatta slum, the biggest settlement in Kisumu, third city in Kenya. The difficult conditions of life easily push the children to drop out the school and, consequently, perpetuate the poverty in the neighbourhood. Once in the streets, the young ones can be influenced by the delinquency, violence and the use of drugs.

MYRC is helping children from different social, economic, tribal and religious backgrounds to move them away from the streets through their activities. Thus, their work is fundamental to give a chance to the neighbouring children and the participants learn crucial health issues including HIV/Aids awareness and environmental values. The MYRC has also been able to increase female participation in community service to be better informed to avoid early pregnancies.
