The Manyatta Youth Resource Centre (MYRC) is a multi-faceted Community Based Organization serving the manyattas of Kisumu.
We are dedicated to improving the lives of our young people through programs in football, performing arts, visual arts, health education, non-violent communication, and community building.
Our Next Event: Running Against Gender-Based Violence Nov. 26th - Dec. 25th!
The Manyatta Youth Resource Centre was founded in 2009 by a group of community members from Kisumu.
Over the years, the MYRC has moved from its base in a corrugated metal shed to hosting community events, classes, meetings, and art shows at its compound. The facility now includes a recording studio and computer access. The sports program, which started as a single Under-14 team, has been built into an academy for both boys and girls ranging in age from youth into young adulthood. Many of our young people have gone on to professional careers using the skills they learned participating in MYRC programs.
